ASSISTED LIVING

Aegis Lake Union

Inspired by the history of the UW 1936 Olympic Rowing team and the first assisted living community built to meet Living Building Challenge 3.1 Petal Certification, Aegis Living Lake Union uniquely combines a rich local history while providing residents with a sustainable and healthy living standard that far exceeds any other senior community in the US. The sustainable design allows for this community to be emission-free and energy efficient by harnessing solar power via an onsite solar array and utilizing offsite solar energy arms. The building has reduced its overall energy draw by 25% through features such as an enhanced thermal envelope, triple pane windows, thermal insulation at exterior walls, and heat recovery through forced-air ventilation. Other energy reducing features include a recirculating heat pump system, LED lighting and sensors to monitor use, and the sourcing of sustainable materials.

The storefront windows open completely to further emphasize a connection between the interior and the exterior.

The Regatta Patio provides memory care residents with opportunities for fresh air, daylight, and ample space for socialization.

The richly landscaped rooftop terrace allows residents to take in the beautiful views and skyline of Seattle while enjoying time with friends and family in the adjacent well appointed “Splash!” Sky Lounge.

Upon entering the double height lobby space, you are drawn to the 2-story high cascading waterfall; artfully created to look as if it has existed there for many years. The spectacular Pocock shell that hangs from the lobby ceiling highlights the beauty of the oars.  Every angle and line connect and pay homage to the beauty shape and movement. The Living Room is adjoined to the activity room where residents and guests can enjoy coffee and pastries, sit and read the paper, or chat about what movie they plan to watch at “The Lake” Cinema. Residents can take advantage of the sweeping views of Lake Union and the Space Needle as well as the entire Seattle skyline.  The “Splash!” Sky Lounge offers connections to the exterior and provides opportunities for relaxing or celebrating with friends.

The “Row House” dining room gives residents access to world class, chef-inspired dining. For special occasions, guests can host private dinners with friends in the “Champions Lounge”
