ASSISTED LIVING

American House Oak Park

The seven-story building that now sits complete on the nearly one-acre site is composed of 174 units and is over 250,000 square feet in total. We worked closely with Chicago-based architecture firm, Myefski Architects, to design a modern, highly-amenitized community that sets itself apart from the other communities in the region. From the exterior, the building is made up of quality materials that blend well and are familiar to the region. The manner in which these materials are arranged on the outside communicate how the building is organized on the inside. Furthermore, the building is tiered not only to accentuate design, but to maximize function. For one, the tiering creates usable outdoor space on all levels, with spacious public terraces and private balconies. Also, this design allows more areas throughout the building to receive natural light, a vital component of our senior living communities. We worked closely with our neighbors to the south to ensure a building design that allowed them to continue to receive ample natural light. With the different care levels organized by floor, we created comfortable spaces, amenities, and services unique to each level. Our spatial strategy is well-defined to optimize the safety and wellbeing of our Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care residents.

In our inviting main lobby, our seating arrangements paired with the storefront glass give the impression of an upscale hotel. Our residents can gather and socialize on our rooftop terrace as they take in the stunning view of the Chicago skyline.

The chefs at American House utilize their expertise in menu development and nutrition to create healthy meals and memorable experiences. Our residents play an important role in the process. Chefs stroll the dining room and engage residents for feedback and collaboration. The Bistro offers an alternative dining experience, offering snacks and adult beverages to be enjoyed at the bar or at the round banquettes.

With the different care levels organized by floor, we created comfortable spaces, amenities, and services unique to each level. Our spatial strategy is well-defined to optimize the safety and wellbeing of our Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care residents. Each of the additional six floors, organized by care level, provide residential apartments, many with city views and engaging amenities. This distinctive community offers something unique and interesting to do for each level of care and residents can find refuge wherever they go.
