WELLNESS: HEALTH & FITNESS

Ashby Ponds Blue Ridge Clubhouse and Hamilton Way

These two most recent buildings at the Ashby Ponds retirement community epitomize the latest offerings of Erickson Senior Living communities. The focus is on fitness, healthy meal plans, planned social activities, lifelong learning, volunteer opportunities, and wellness education. Only at the scale of an Erickson Senior Living retirement community can a resident enjoy an enclosed Olympic-length swimming pool, an indoor high-ceiling pickleball court, a fitness center that offers over 3,000 square feet of health and fitness space, a full-featured 2,400-square-foot spa and salon, all of which reside in the two adjoining buildings of Blue Ridge Clubhouse and Hamilton Way.

The two buildings are cleverly designed to provide three distinct dining venues pinwheeled around a central kitchen that allows efficient operations. The casual Skyline Grille faces the fitness center and pool. It is a place for a quick juice between workouts, or a light lunch. Black Rock Bistro, named after a popular hiking trail in the Shenandoah mountains, has an open kitchen with a large pizza oven and a full-sized bar. The Bistro opens onto a courtyard with double bocce ball courts and a pergola. A third dining venue is the formal Potomac Steakhouse. This dining room and bar front the central landscaped green between neighborhoods two and three.

The central town square enclosed by Hamilton Way and the Blue Ridge Clubhouse was master planned in a way that arranges the residential buildings to create an outdoor assembly space with a town hall at one end and a large fountain at the other.

Located near the pool and fitness center, the Skyline Grill offers a casual dining space for light lunch.
