BasePoint Academy was born from a personal and urgent mission: to bridge the gaps in adolescent mental health care after the tragic loss of CEO Blake Serpa’s sister, Brittany. Honoring her memory, the Frisco Clinic—our largest and most intentional project to date—carries deep significance as Brittany’s hometown. With locations now in Forney, Arlington, McKinney, and Frisco, BasePoint is steadfast in its vision: to elevate Texas into the top five states for mental health access by 2030.
This 12,500-square-foot outpatient clinic serves adolescents ages 11–18 and young adults ages 18–35. It offers comprehensive day treatment through Partial Hospitalization (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) programming. The clinic’s therapeutic model includes evidence-based modalities like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness practices, motivational interviewing, and Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI).
These services address a wide range of challenges including anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, and mood disorders. What sets this clinic apart is its trauma-informed, human-centered design approach. Partnering with STV architects, BasePoint prioritized emotional safety, calm, and dignity for both patients and staff. The clinic includes 36 clinical and staff support spaces and 15 common/community areas—each one intentionally crafted to meet the needs of a diverse client base.

Distinct design palettes support different age groups. The adolescent clinic features motivational typography and energizing tones, while the young adult uses soft blues, greens, and natural finishes to evoke calm and focus. “We wanted it to feel almost like a spa,” explains Brand Manager, Megan Serpa. “Where you walk in, your shoulders relax, and you go, ‘I actually want to be here.’”
The layout reflects an emphasis on community and connection. Central group rooms are surrounded by smaller private therapy spaces, encouraging both peer interaction and one-on-one support. Special attention was given to confidentiality and client flow—private assessment rooms are located at the front of the building to minimize exposure and reduce anxiety for new arrivals.
Perhaps most notably, the Frisco Clinic is a community connector. Its on-site conference space is open for use by local therapists, support groups, and referral partners—extending the clinic’s impact beyond treatment and into the heart of the community.
In an industry often characterized by sterile, institutional settings, BasePoint Frisco redefines what a behavioral health facility can be. It’s a sanctuary of healing, purpose-built for day treatment, and designed with intention, compassion, and innovation at every turn
