SKILLED NURSING / POST-ACUTE CARE

Bishop Gadsden – Gadsden Glen

Gadsden Glen is exceptional example of a life plan community’s commitment to excellence in healthcare. Every design decision centered on enhancing the day-to-day resident, staff, and family experiences while also upholding the community’s mission and values.

Bishop Gadsden’s leadership team guided the vision for both the interior and exterior design, focusing on views to nature, integration of the local vernacular, as well as the need to keep spaces light and bright to uplift and inspire all who live, work, and visit the Glen. The building blends elements of the traditional Lowcountry architecture found regionally and elsewhere on the campus with a forward-looking contemporary design that reflects current trends in residential design such as such as black storefront window frames and lapped siding. The interior design incorporates many custom elements such as carpeting, decorative lighting, signage and commissioned art pieces – all carefully selected with input from Bishop Gadsden.

When you walk in the front door you’re greeted by custom backlit ironwork behind the reception desk and a unique handcrafted chandelier that draws your eye up and into the elegant sunny two-story library and sitting area featuring a grand fireplace and skylight. This attention to light and bright spaces continues through common resident spaces such as great rooms and activity spaces.

Each large dining room is divided into smaller more intimate spaces and are open to the surrounding corridors so residents don’t feel shut away from activity.

Amenity spaces reflect the community’s commitment to maintaining the resident, staff, and visitor experience throughout the continuum of care.

Resident rooms were designed around multiple floor-to-ceiling windows keeping the rooms sunny and cheerful and featuring views of the old growth oak trees on the property. Resident rooms also feature a separate lounge area offset from the sleeping area. Generous private bathrooms with full showers are easy accessed by residents with wheelchairs or other mobility assistance.
