Dale Commons is an assisted living and short-term senior living community in California’s Central Valley. Owned and operated by MBK Senior Living, the community transformation went from an outdated Tuscan style design into a reimagined “Serene Sanctuary.” The new design introduces a fresh, calm, soft yet sophisticated aesthetic. The building’s exterior and Craftsman-style charm was untouched, allowing for the project budget to focus on impactful interior updates. The goal: replace the dated aesthetic with a welcoming environment that enhances daily life for residents and staff while simultaneously appealing to families and prospective residents alike.
The result is a community completely reborn. Each once-darkened space is now bright, fresh, and engaging. Each shared area seems to provide a distinct “breath of fresh air” offering its own unique character while contributing to a cohesive whole. The overall personality is now commanding yet tranquil — a place where residents and staff alike can truly thrive.

The Lobby establishes a strong sense of arrival, offering welcoming elegance and setting the tone for the community. The original reception desk was retained for budget purposes, but redesigned with ADA-compliant, high-end quartz countertops, refreshed millwork in calming indigo, and a bold tile front framed by pendant lighting. ADA-compliant revisions ensure accessibility, while thoughtful storage and privacy create a space that is both functional and inviting.
The temperate California climate also encourages an indoor/outdoor lifestyle, inspiring our members to enjoy
outdoor dining and lounging next to the fireplace in our courtyard.
Living Room Before | After
The Living Room builds on this welcome, blending intimacy with community. Comfortable furnishings encourage relaxation, while arched bookcases display curated accessories that add personality and warmth. The result is a true gathering space that balances hospitality-inspired refinement with an inviting sense of home.
Designed to offer each member an elevated and engaged life, including the Elegant Palmer Library and Lobby.

As the central heart of the community, the Dining Room visually connects nearly every major amenity. Its new design incorporates appropriately scaled carpeting, refined finishes, and ambient lighting to elevate the aesthetic. Thoughtful furniture selections provide comfort and choice, while the overall ambiance creates a visually striking destination that enhances daily resident experiences and serves as a key selling point.
