Deer Ridge opened in May of 2021 and is a blend of modern elegance fused with regional influence built on the platform of over 30 years experience of operating memory care communities. Home to 70 residents diagnosed with memory challenges, it stands alongside the country’s most cutting-edge purpose-built memory care communities. This Koelsch community is located in Pullayup, Washington, where there is a rich farming legacy. The modern farmhouse design with classic architectural detail meets the timeless, classic interior design and fits neatly into the neighborhood. The European American mix with an updated approach is inspired by history, farmlands & natural elements with the goal of creating a comfortable & inviting atmosphere. From design to execution this Memory Care Community was built with the details in mind. From sightlines, and extra wide hallways, to safety and comfort features, Deer Ridge has it all.
Some of the design highlights are in the building’s shape–Deer Ridge is built with sightlines in mind. 12+ foot wide hallways allow all the staff members to have clear sightlines to all those they care for. These wide hallways, constructed in a loop, accommodate residents our ladies & gentlemen, to walk tirelessly in both directions without traffic jams. The circular design allows for an expansive interior courtyard where residents can enjoy plenty of safe& secure time outdoors.
While inside the building, a family may notice that the entire design-build has local flair including Historical Surprises®. This historical imagery and intentionally curated curios are filled with hand-picked local antiques and throwback photography from Puyallup in the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s. These Historical Surprises® are placed to stimulate and reconnect residents with fond memories from their youth. As a family walks through the community, they will see the two dining areas, Rose and Ivy. These separate dining areas accommodate lower and higher-level acuity residents in turn, preserving resident dignity.
