Harbor’s Edge River Tower

The Harbor’s Edge River Tower addition to this CCRC improves all levels of care in the addition. Harbor’s Edge is a splendid example of urban infill next to a historic site which exceeds the market options for seniors looking for exceptional lifestyle choices in Norfolk, Virginia. Designed with resident and staff input while promoting the city’s development principals, this podium-tower, twenty-four story addition transforms the community for the future while addressing the existing resident’s question; “what are you going to do for me today”? While aesthetically compatible with the original brick twelve-story, the new tower is a sexy sister with an urban twist that beckons across the harbor to downtown Norfolk.

Integrated from a care relationship with a surrounding healthcare neighbor. Well connected with the local civic and arts programs of Norfolk. Multiple dining venues which are chef inspired and diverse in its offerings. Great bar and wine vault.

In-town, upscale hospitality model with multiple chef inspired restaurant dining/bar venues. Tailored theatre options with food centric pre-function environments. Gaming spaces with connectivity to protected landscape roof top terraces. Plenty of parking an elevator ride away.

With an array of health-conscious venues including a spa venue, salon, barber shop, indoor swimming and aerobics spaces, new game rooms and card rooms, a billiards parlor, art studio, theater and an indoor professional golf simulator, the result is a sophisticated urban resort-style community that highlights social and leisure time. The design also supports Harbor’s Edge’s state-of-the-art healthcare offerings through the True LifeCare™ program, which leads among providers for seniors in the Hampton Roads region and beyond. Residents have access to a wide array of on-site services, including skilled nursing, rehabilitation, memory care, and assisted living. The project also renovated existing healthcare environments, establishing a unified brand aesthetic in the vein of “one community, two towers” and delivering a thoughtful, appealing environment for the continuing long-term experience.
