KindCare takes as its mission to provide the highest quality assisted living and memory care for a middle market clientele in an environment of sophistication and warmth. This project is the flagship for this new entity whose goal is to serve communities and constituencies that have been generally underserved by providers of assisted living and memory care, without cutting corners on the quality of the amenities or environment. As an urban project, the goal was to make the building as if it were part of a mixed-use streetscape, despite the fact that this is a secure community. As such, it engages with the streets and sidewalks of the neighborhood, creating a street wall at the corner where there had long been a vacant lot. The project acts as an anchor for what the city hopes will be a reinvigorated urban fabric, setting a tone for future development in the area.
This project targets a middle market clientele. Despite that, it includes all of the amenities one would expect to find in one targeting a more affluent market, including Bistro, dedicated Theater and Arts rooms, Library, Fitness, Wellness and Salon. The memory care floor includes all of the elements one would expect to find in any quality memory care community, including direct, secure access to outdoor space.
There are a wide array of flexible seating options in the dining area. Connected to the theater, this bistro provides streetscape views to dining residents. A private dining room is also available and includes a view of the library.
As a project targeting middle market residents, almost all of the apartments are “companion” type, with 2 residents each having their own bedroom but sharing a small common space, kitchenette and bathroom. The memory care household has all the amenities you’d expect to find in any dedicated memory care environment.
The community also includes all of the amenities one would expect to find in a more affluent market, including Bistro, dedicated Theater and Arts rooms, Library, Fitness, Wellness and Salon.
