Landis Place on King is a 55+ rental project in the heart of downtown Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Designed to provide much-needed middle-income housing for older adults, it is a mixed-use building with 79 apartments, under-building parking spaces, and third-party commercial space. Replacing two non-descript, aging buildings, Landis Place on King helps keep the city’s central business district vibrant and growing. This satellite option is designed to meet the needs of older adults who wish to remain in an urban setting and take advantage of the amenities available in the surrounding city. On-site staff include a community manager, a maintenance technician and a care navigator who connects residents to community services.
Large windows surround the lobby and showcase the surrounding streetscape. Common spaces have been kept to a minimum to allow for social connections, wellness and lifelong learning opportunities. Elevator Lobby gathering rooms on three floors provide a space for residents to socialize outside their apartments.
On the top floor is a community room that connects to a rooftop terrace. It provides residents a social and dining space equipped with shade umbrellas for bright days and a fire pit for cool evenings. The rooftop terrace provides amazing city views to the East, West, and South any time of day.
The community’s fitness center also makes the most of city views and is open to residents 24 hours a day.
