The Luther Crest Senior Living Community completed significant renovations, including a $13 million investment in the community center that transformed the dining experience from the standard, buffet-style experience to a modern, multi-venue establishment offering a wide range of dining options to meet residents’ needs and preferences.
The variety of house-made fare has greatly grown as well. Luther Crest’s expanded kitchens now boast an award-winning, dedicated pastry chef and new, state-of-the-art equipment – including blast freezers, Rationale Combi ovens (which can be converted into smoking cabinets) and immersion circulators (or sous vide machines) – making it possible to offer expanded menus across different cuisines, and elevated dishes such as hickory-smoked, dry rubbed wings; fork-tender filet mignon; and applewood-smoked baby back ribs.

These additions have also made it possible for Luther Crest to expand and streamline its catering services, so chefs can provide more efficient service for events.
The temperate California climate also encourages an indoor/outdoor lifestyle, inspiring our members to enjoy
outdoor dining and lounging next to the fireplace in our courtyard.

With this renovation, Luther Crest included another distinct feature that is creating memorable moments for residents: a mobile teaching kitchen, which makes it possible for chefs to provide live cooking classes to residents. The kitchen is also equipped with special camera mounts, enabling classes to be live streamed on apartment televisions so residents can cook along at home.
Designed to offer each member an elevated and engaged life, including the Elegant Palmer Library and Lobby.

Adoption of the latest technology has not been limited to the kitchen, either. Besides convenience features, like self-service ordering kiosks in the casual dining spaces and tablets used by wait staff in the formal dining rooms, Luther Crest has added a robot to its waiting staff. The robot supports residents and staff alike in several ways: busing tables, delivering food, and even singing to residents on their birthdays. The residents named it Figgy, and it has quickly become a favorite feature.
