The Myron Stratton Home team partnered with KEPHART Architects and Aneka Interiors for a new construction Affordable Housing Project located on the historic Myron Stratton Home campus in Colorado Springs. The independent living apartment building will be built in 2 phases with the initial building being built as a prototype to be replicated several more times over the coming years. Phase 1 consists of approximately 40 apartments with common amenity spaces (50,400 sq ft), phase 2 consists of approximately 30 apartments (32,400 sq ft).
Rooted in the natural beauty and historical significance of Colorado Springs, this project draws inspiration from the lush landscape and Spanish Mission-style architecture of the existing property. The design pays homage to timeless craftsmanship while creating a warm, welcoming environment for residents and visitors alike.

Upon entry, guests are greeted by a sun-filled two-story Lobby that frames views throughout the building. Intricately detailed archways guide you past the reception lounge into the heart of the community, the Great Room. There’s also an inviting lounge that anchors the Lobby as the social hub at the entry of the community.
Anchored by the Bistro and Grab N Go Marketplace, this area is designed to be adaptable throughout the day. Mornings begin with residents picking up coffee and light bites, while evenings transition to casual dining or cocktails at the Bistro Bar. Rich woods, custom millwork, and curated lighting fixtures imbue the space with a timeless ambiance, making it equally suited for watching a football game or enjoying an intimate dinner.
Upstairs, the energy shifts slightly as the design encourages reflection, creativity, and connection. Overlooking the Grand Lobby is the 2nd Floor Lounge, featuring a piano for all to enjoy during performances. The Craft Room is a bright, flexible space, tailored for resident-led classes, quilting circles, and seasonal workshops. Adjacent, the Club Room serves as a communal living room for families and friends. Deep, comfortable seating and tactile textures create a residential feel, while a full-service kitchen allows for everything from cooking classes to private dinner parties.
