For over 30 years, O’Connor Woods, a Life Plan Community / CCRC, has faithfully supported the community’s seniors in Stockton California. Sitting on 34 acres in San Joaquin County, O’Connor Woods offers a variety of living options and services including independent and assisted living, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, memory care, and adult day care. Through multiple architectural and interior design renovations over the past twenty years, one of the most significant alterations is the expansion and renovation of the dining room. The renovation signifies a transformation within the community about residents’ need and desire for a better quality dining experience.
Main Dining Room Before | After
The new café and bistro area offers dining variety. The open servery encourages guests to interact with the kitchen staff.
Bar/Lounge Before | After
A small, dimly-lit corner area included tables and chairs for staff only. A new bar/lounge serving beer, wine and “bar bites” encourages socialization.
The temperate California climate also encourages an indoor/outdoor lifestyle, inspiring our members to enjoy
outdoor dining and lounging next to the fireplace in our courtyard.
Guest Dining Options Before | After
The previous dining room only offered guests a single dining area. Guests can choose between multiple seating options or grab-and-go from the café counter. The salad bar doubles as walker storage for residents.
Designed to offer each member an elevated and engaged life, including the Elegant Palmer Library and Lobby.
Dining Flexibility Before | After
Guests gather in a crowded single dining area previously. New operable partitions offer flexibility to divide the bistro and casual dining experiences for small or large gatherings.
