The newest home, Story Cottage Meridian Hills, is a testament to thoughtful design married with boutique memory care. Exterior and interior designs are inspired by classic cottage aesthetics, with elegant architectural details that make the home visually appealing and welcoming. Nestled in the Meridian Hills neighborhood of Indianapolis, the cottage was intentionally designed to evoke the appearance of a residential home and honor the traditional style of the existing community. Every effort was made to preserve the attractive, mature trees on the lot to retain the native beauty and stateliness of the property. Natural materials, serene color palettes, and abundant natural light create a calm and therapeutic atmosphere. The flowing layout of the home is deliberately organized to enhance functionality and comfort. Private bedrooms are complemented by common spaces inside and outside that encourage social interaction and foster community. These areas are designed to meet the diverse and individual needs of the residents, providing settings for socializing, quiet reflection, and engagement in planned solo and group activities.

Safety features are seamlessly integrated into the home, ensuring residents can navigate their environment with ease and confidence. These state-of-the-art security measures include discreet monitoring systems, secure outdoor areas, and emergency response mechanisms. Special attention is devoted to creating spaces that encourage residents to remain active and engaged. The comfortable living room has a functional fireplace to be enjoyed on cold days. Private, well-appointed rooms are available for residents to visit and dine with their families or guests. The sunroom offers a bright, cheerful place to relax alone or with others, while the library provides a quiet retreat for reading and reflection. Outdoor spaces are designed for safe, enjoyable activities, with ample outdoor shaded seating, secure gardens with features to attract birds, and a walking path.

The home-like design, nestled perfectly into an established neighborhood, sets Story Cottage apart in the memory care space. The small-scale, familiar environment allows residents to experience a significant reduction in the stress of living with cognitive decline, while also experiencing increased comfort, necessary stability and routine, and, ultimately, an overall better quality of life.
