The Pillars of Lakeville, Oppidan’s seventh Pillars Senior Community in Minnesota, is a 132,000 square foot building with 100 apartments including independent living, assisted living and memory care. It’s uniquely positioned next to Crossroads Church, Christian Heritage Academy and Four Square Childcare and physically connected to each entity through an internal hallway, allowing simple and safe passage and fostering unprecedented opportunities for The Pillars of Lakeville residents to participate in the internationally recognized Intergenerational Connections program. The community was designed with a flair to modern day, but with a mix of traditional elements which connects residents to their past. The exterior has a modern vibe with overhanging roof fascias, hung balconies, and dark metal panel accented with white siding. The interior has a modern, more traditional feel with warm wood work and earthtone finishes selected to promote comfort with splashes of accent color to add interest. Walkability is important. Sidewalks connect each entity of the site and indoor walkways allow residents to reach childcare, church or school without the need for a car, or to even go outdoors during poor weather.
It was imperative that the community stand out among its competitors in a highly competitive market. Common spaces needed to feel special, given the tight space and less area to work with. This resulted in an elevated, cheerful design. The intimate Memory Care community allows for close interactions between staff and a calming environment for residents. 4th floor apartments are open to independent living and include a top floor sky lounge and deck space for entertaining.
The Pillars of Lakeville has a contemporary design, with a classic, charming appeal achieved by using classic patterns and playful prints and accents colors throughout the building. The spaces need to function as a home for residents and as an intergenerational community space to accommodate the partnerships with the child care center, school and church. The design captures as much natural light as possible throughout the units and common areas to give this community a strong connection to the outdoors on a site where space is limited.
Residents can choose from a variety of floor plans in two finish schemes to fit their style. Apartments include quartz counters, a washer/dryer, large windows, many with balconies, stainless steel appliances, personal climate controls, LVP flooring throughout and carpet in the bedrooms. Bathrooms include roll-in showers, ample storage space and great lighting. Memory Care apartments include a kitchenette with a mini-fridge, locked medicine cabinets, a private bath with roll-in shower, LVP flooring throughout and personal climate controls.
The amenities at Lakeville senior living community were thoughtfully imagined and designed to engage residents with a wide range of interests. On a sunny day, grab a paddle and challenge your neighbor to a game of pickleball or meander the quiet, residential neighbors nearby.
