RENOVATION / REPOSITIONING (BUILDING)

The Quadrangle

Founded in 1989 by Haverford College alumni, The Quadrangle is a distinctive LifeCare community located on the grounds of a historic manor house. Grounded in Quaker values—integrity, simplicity, and community—it continues to thrive under the leadership of a dedicated Resident Association, offering a vibrant and inclusive environment.

The renovation aimed to enhance the functionality of common areas, introduce new amenities, and elevate the overall aesthetic. Underutilized lobby spaces were transformed into welcoming, engaging environments that immediately showcase the community’s unique character. Inspired by the manor house, the design incorporates exposed brick, handcrafted finishes, a warm nature-inspired palette, arched openings, and curved detailing unified by soft edges. Contemporary furniture selections draw from traditional forms, while bold, textured fabrics with classic patterns accentuate the Quadrangle’s understated elegance.

Resident artwork previously displayed in secondary locations is now prominently featured, enriching the arrival experience.

The temperate California climate also encourages an indoor/outdoor lifestyle, inspiring our members to enjoy
outdoor dining and lounging next to the fireplace in our courtyard.
