Nestled in the historic communities of Pasadena and Severna Park in Maryland, The Sheridan at Severna Park includes 102 market-rate senior living units with a mix of Assisted Living and Memory Care. Completed in June 2023, this hospitality-focused premium community allows its resident to connect, create, and craft their own assisted-lifestyle choices while adhering to sustainability as a National Green Building Standard – Silver certified structure. This new 3-story (98,000 GSF), metal construction building includes 84 Assisted Living units and 1-story wood construction 24 Memory Care units. The 5.14 acre site sits amidst a Craftsman-style residential neighborhood developed during the Arts and Crafts movement in early 1900s along the Chesapeake Bay and Baltimore-Annapolis Railroads. Taking inspiration from the community’s roots as a stop along railways and bay, The Sheridan embraces facets of its regional heritage and expresses them in a distinctly modern way. Creating a sense of place, regionally specific art features sailing, equestrianism, and the flora and fauna of the Chesapeake Bay region.
The naturally illuminated central multipurpose public space leads to private assisted residential units. Bringing the exterior structural elements into the interior space by use of rafters provides architectural continuity.
The Flexible Bar transitions from coffee in the morning to a wine or cocktail for happy hour.
The Reception Desk provides seamless check-in for guests, assistance for residents, and a welcoming presence for the property.
Restaurant-style service, a variety of seating layouts, and a private dining room offer residents and guests a variety of options for all-day dining.
The Memory Care dining room is reminiscent of one’s kitchen with views of the internal courtyard.
The Dining Room features an open kitchen with pizza oven that allows for resident interaction, as well as custom menu options.
The Assisted Living dining room showcases layered patterns and warm tones to create an inviting environment.
The project is Silver – National Green Building Standard (NGBS) certified with sustainability features such as energy efficient mechanical systems, water saving fixtures, green roofs, on-site storm water management, and overall higher indoor air quality testing and environment.
Accessible units are flooded with natural light, high ceilings, bright kitchenettes, ample storage, and a luxurious material palette offering a personalized living space. The one-bedroom unit features open living spaces with flexible areas to accommodate residents. Memory Care bedrooms provide Studio-style living and open shelving concept for residents.
Wellbeing is prioritized as socializing has been proven to be one of the leading ways seniors can strengthen their mental and physical health. In the Great Room, the game tables, coffee and cocktail bar, terrace, and communal lounges provide diverse settings for connecting with fellow residents and loved ones. Easy sightlines to the adjacent Library and semi-adjacent Entertainment Suite, Activity Room, and Mailroom welcome residents into programming spaces for enhanced group experiences.
