Located in the heart of the vibrant North Hills District of Raleigh, Kisco Senior Living expanded their Cardinal community with a new 18-story tower consisting of 151 Independent Living residences (including 5 penthouses) and 40 Assisted Living residences. Maintaining the inclusive atmosphere of the community was of high importance, not only between the existing campus and the new Tower, but also among the mix of residents with different needs and expectations. Residents of all care levels, as well as those from the existing campus, have access to the new amenities provided in the Tower. The Tower elevates contemporary senior living to new levels of luxury with the option of Premium and Penthouse units, some exceeding 3,500 square feet. With an array of dining venues and chef-prepared meals, state-of-the-art health and wellness, and 24/7 award-winning service all just steps away from restaurants, retail, and nightlife, the Tower at Cardinal is an exemplary project of all disciplines working together to create beautiful, safe homes for seniors through good, thoughtful planning and design.
“Bring the outdoors in” became the obvious concept, with biophilia design and overall wellness/well-being in senior living. The design emphasizes outdoors and integration with nature, providing direct outdoor access, and using wood and stone mixed with soft organic forms and textures inside. The lobby features a lush, two-story living green wall, sending a message of wellness. The lounge and dining areas have direct access to the Courtyard, and large bi-fold windows connect the bar and patio. Upper floor large windows offer stunning views, open floorplans welcome in natural light, and windows in all elevator lobbies provide continued connection to daylight.
This Tower expansion to The Cardinal community is fully integrated with the surrounding urban fabric and the existing campus and enhances the communal atmosphere, while providing for a variety of premium amenities, taking contemporary luxury senior living to new heights. A key element unifying both the existing and new Tower communities is the central Courtyard and the social/dining venues connected to the Courtyard with a covered patio. The Tower fosters community and connection by providing a host of new services and amenities for all residents.
New amenities and common areas are for all residents, fostering a sense of community and connection. The family room is bathed in natural light and provides access to the Covered Terrace. The Covered Terrace adds outdoor options for gathering.
The library serves as a quiet refuge for residents to read or play. The Discovery Room introduces new and prospective residents to the community and is located off the lobby.
With 151 independent living and 40 assisted living residences, residents can choose from several one-, two-, and three-bedroom floor plans, including club level and penthouse options.
