Built by the Thompson family for their mother in 1983, The Virginian has served the senior community of Fairfax, Virginia for over 40 years. Now owned by Focus Healthcare Partners and managed by Life Care Services, The Virginian has evolved to offer a vibrant and welcoming home for its third generation of seniors, combining rich history with modern amenities to meet their diverse needs.
Focus Healthcare Partners, a real estate investment firm specializing in Senior Housing and Healthcare real estate, saw a unique opportunity in The Virginian. Despite its solid reputation, the aging community needed fresh capital for physical and operational improvements— a significant undertaking requiring dedication and resources that other investors were unable to consider. After years of discussions, Focus Healthcare Partners acquired The Virginian in the summer of 2019 and assembled a design team to reposition it as a best-in-class senior living destination, offering a full continuum of care.
