The project is designed to create engagement with the surrounding community. At street level, two leased retail spaces serve both residents and the public. The Bistro and Salon are run by the operator and have direct access for the residents but are also accessible to the public from the street. Other amenities include a Theater, Wellness area, and various recreational spaces such as an Exercise Room, Billiards/Game Room, and Arts & Crafts Room—many with direct views and access to the courtyard.

Outdoor spaces, including a spacious courtyard with seating, a BBQ area, a fire pit, and a dog area, encourage social interaction and physical activity. Designed to support aging with dignity, The Watermark at San Jose fosters engagement and active living while meeting the unique needs of seniors in a vibrant urban setting.

The courtyard serves as a vibrant heart of the community, bringing residents together while seamlessly connecting to the energy of San Jose’s urban neighborhood. Open, inviting, and thoughtfully designed, it encourages both relaxation and social engagement.
