RENOVATION / REPOSITIONING

THE Wind crest town center

The Wind Crest Town Center project exemplifies how thoughtful, human-centered design can revitalize existing spaces to improve quality of life for residents and staff alike. Rather than relying on large-scale construction, the team strategically reprogrammed non-residential areas to better reflect evolving community needs—focusing on social connection, wellness, and the creation of destinations that foster engagement. The project transformed outdated spaces into vibrant, multifunctional environments that encourage small-group interaction, enhance staff professional development, and increase resident satisfaction. The design team focused on creating a network of thoughtfully placed amenities that compliment one another, creating social hubs within formerly underutilized areas of the clubhouse.

A key success lied in its subtle yet impactful changes. Relocating the library to a once quiet area of the lobby, created a lively media lounge and social hub with cozy nooks and compelling displays. Dining venues such as the Fireside Restaurant and Mill Vista Bar became destination experiences, improving resident engagement and create an anchor point to the amenity zone. Additionally, the inclusion of an Employee Health & Wellness Center repositions staff wellbeing as a community priority, serving as both a benefit and recruitment tool.

Library Before | After

With the strategic addition of partitions and screens, the lounge and games areas are defined and balance the restaurant façade across the main corridor. The fireplace surround is right-sized for the space and further enhanced with shelving for added interest. The space feels refreshed and welcoming.

The temperate California climate also encourages an indoor/outdoor lifestyle, inspiring our members to enjoy
outdoor dining and lounging next to the fireplace in our courtyard.

Fireside Dining Before | After

By introducing a combination of solid partitions and interior storefront, the entrance to the dining venue is clearly defined, creating a sense of arrival and identity, while also allowing daylight from the venue to filter into the lounge space. The pre-dinner zone is nestled comfortably against the new façade.

Designed to offer each member an elevated and engaged life, including the Elegant Palmer Library and Lobby.

Fitness & Lounge Before | After

By relocating partitions and slightly reducing the size of the fitness center, this key intersection in the clubhouse is given new life. The increased lounge space feels purposeful, while a graphic feature wall and interior glazing along the corridor add interest for residents, encouraging use of the amenity and interaction.
