Vicar’s landing at oak bridge

Vicar’s Landing at Oak Bridge was conceived out of a practical need for expansion and a mission-driven desire to create a vibrant satellite community. Located less than a mile from the original campus, Oak Bridge transforms a decommissioned golf course into an amenity-rich community that complements rather than replicates the offerings at Vicar’s Landing at Sawgrass.

The original Vicar’s Landing community was developed in 1983 on a 24.3-acre site within Sawgrass-a private resort and residential community that also houses the flagship Tournament Players Club (TPC) for the PGA Tour. The community has flourished, with demand consistently outpacing capacity. However, height restrictions on the built-out campus prevented vertical expansion, prompting the strategic development of the nearby Oak Bridge site to accommodate future growth.

Inspired by the region’s renowned golf clubs, the compact clubhouse offers a variety of distinctive venues and built-in flexibility. The Oak Dining Room is equipped with a retractable projection screen so it can also function as a large gathering space, which does not otherwise exist on this campus.

The open layout of dining venues provides efficiency while creating varied experiences within a moderately-sized footprint. The restaurant, cafe and pub flow into one another, but maintain a level of physical separation. The venues are complementary due to their proximity and openness, but each has its own identity and functionality. The outdoor pool deck incorporates a bar that is served from the pub. Additional amenities include an exercise equipment room, fitness classroom, beauty salon, massage room and a flexible meeting space.

Vicar’s Landing at Oak Bridge exemplifies strategic planning across campuses, market adaptability for housing, and successful satellite expansion. It not only satisfies immediate housing needs, but also supports organizational mission and long-term viability.
