the hacienda at georgetown

Georgetown, Texas sits 33 miles north of downtown Austin, on the northern edge of the iconic Texas Hill Country. This town, previously regarded as a sleepy suburb, was fast becoming a recipient of the “urban shift” happening in cities with rising costs of living, forcing some to look to surrounding markets for affordability. Residents wanted a resort-style campus patterned after the current lifestyle they were accustomed to having at their fingertips. They wanted options – space, access to their old walking trails, good food, a place to entertain, lots of outdoor amenities, social events, and a place to park their golf carts. We conducted a three-step community feedback study, culminating in a day-long focus group involving 200 Sun City residents. We tested all of our assumptions – based on lifestyle preferences, amenities, price point and community fee tolerance, and other criteria. Those extra steps allowed us to produce and deliver a 230-residence, premier lifestyle-focused senior living destination – The Hacienda at Georgetown.

The Hacienda at Georgetown was designed in a Texas Hill Country, modern farmhouse motif. Interior and exterior spaces were intentionally drawn to invite the outdoors in, and to offer residents the opportunity to entertain themselves and others in flexible areas from casual to upscale. There’s even an outdoor performance stage for booking hill country musical groups as one of the more popular leisure activities in Central Texas. Landscaping used thoughtful plantings that were both drought-tolerant and native to the region. All outdoor spaces are wired for sound.

The Hacienda at Georgetown is MedCore’s flagship development, with its cornerstone being the integration with the surrounding Sun City master plan as well as the citizens of Georgetown and other cities. Both the fitness/salon/spa venue and the main restaurant, Alma, are permitted for public use, and an extensive marketing campaign was launched in 2022 to educate the Austin MSA on The Hacienda’s focus on drawing the public into its venues. The Hacienda has also forged relationships with the local university to offer some of its wellness programs onsite.

This gorgeous, 13-acre campus offers round-the-clock services and amenities and caters to the senior who wants concierge living, transformative technology, and a lifestyle that extends their current standard of living. In addition to the public-facing restaurant and fitness/salon/spa areas, The Hacienda features other unique services such as:

  • Access control with hand-scanning technology
  • On-site personal training and fitness professionals
  • On-site IT technician to assist with internet, TVs, computers, setting up the access control app, etc.
  • Outside entertainment pavilion for live music festivals, family gatherings, civic events
  • Electric vehicle charging stations
  • Resident golf cart parking
