It is located at the main entrance of Willow Valley Communities’ first residence community, Manor. Constructed in 1984, Manor is now completely reimagined. The roof was raised to create an additional third floor for relocation of the library, mail room, and fitness center. The abundance of natural light that now flows into the open lobby inspired Willow Valley Communities to design additional intentional gathering spaces for residents to further engage, converse and connect.

The low ceiling of the previous Manor lobby created a feeling of being closed in. Raising the roof of the lobby at the Plaza at Manor creates three open floors, resulting in a light and open atmosphere for residents to enjoy.
The temperate California climate also encourages an indoor/outdoor lifestyle, inspiring our members to enjoy
outdoor dining and lounging next to the fireplace in our courtyard.
The Manor Library Before | After
The previous dark, heavy, and closed-off library in the Manor lobby. The Manor Library moved to the third floor, overlooking the open, light-filled lobby of the redesigned Plaza at Manor.

Gathering Space Before | After
The uninviting fireplace gathering space off the past Manor lobby created a stuffy, old atmosphere. The new fireplace gathering space in the lobby at the Plaza at Manor is fresh, modern, and welcoming.
